John Goodier

John Goodier is a level 2 Google Certified Educator and is passionate about cloud computing. John has over 23 years business IT experience and moved into education about 10 years ago. He has been responsible for moving schools onto cloud computing and is just at home in a classroom environment as well as CPD or teaching vital IT skills to adults who have no experience of computing at all.

He has experience of rolling out Google Cloud platform and says he can take a school from "ground zero" to using Google Cloud in just ten weeks. John experience of working with children holds good for teaching vital IT skills to adults, in particular those who have little or no IT experience. He uses real life examples to help build teamwork and collaboration. Allowing small teams to setup and run a fictitious new startup business, this gives them real challenges and problem solving skills whilst improving digital skills.

John is currently working with older adults which is part of the Ambition for Ageing scheme teaching IT skills and helping reduce loneliness and social isolation.

John suffers from dyslexia and has an affinity with people who have the same issue; therefore has a lot of time and patience with anyone who may find their first steps into IT a real challenge.
